It probably will come as no surprise to anyone out there that waking up bright eyed and bushy tailed is especially hard here in the Pacific Northwest in Winter after the end of Daylight Savings when the sun rises well after the morning commute (to set again shortly before the commute home). Our day often begins in a dark, quiet room with the sound of Shibas snoring and Jason panicking “GAH… slept in again…”, jumping out of bed, stumbling to the closet while promptly stubbing his toe on the cedar chest at the foot of the bed and tripping over one of the Shiba kids, now fully awake and underfoot in the shadowy room.
Wake Up Your Way Light and Alarm
It’s this scenario that really turned us on to the new Wake Up Your Way Light & Alarm Clock from OttLite. With a 10, 20, or 30 minute gradual wake feature using light and/or sound to simulate dawn, it helps your mind wake easily and naturally. Such lights have been proven to be beneficial for people having a hard time waking up in the dark during seasons of poor morning sunshine and are especially good for people suffering from Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD). Basically the folks at OttLite made an alarm clock just for those of us who suffer from "sleep inertia" (lack of energy and motivation upon waking).

YEAAAA Ottlite!

This alarm comes with some seriously cool features including:
  • 6 nature sounds  and  an Alarm sound
  • FM radio with USB port and auxiliary audio-in
  • 10, 20 or 30-minute gradual wake up/go-to-sleep feature
  • Color changing light to help relax and/or recharge
  • Snooze option
  • Battery back up

Since it’s apparent you’d have to pry Jason’s OttLite alarm out of his cold, sleeping fingers, the great people at OttLite have provided one Wake Up Your Way Light & Alarm Clock for us to give away via this newsletter. We've set up rules for wining at Rafflecopter.

The winner will be chosen on Sunday, November 6th. You have until then to get your entries in.  Entering is as simple as commenting on this post, visiting our Facebook page, or OttLite's Facebook page. One note: to be eligible you must have a US address or US Post Office Box.

While this light will certainly wake you in a welcoming way, it’s still up to you to put down the hooks and needles and turn off your bedroom light at a reasonable time to go to sleep. The Wake Up Your Way Light & Alarm Clock won’t help you sleep any better, you’ll need a great mattress for that (If the folks from Sealy, Sleep Number, or Simmons are reading this, we’d be thrilled to test your product for our readers… just sayin’).

Disclaimer: The Shibaguyz are paid spokespersons for OttLite… that being said, we’d still use their products even if we were not. They are just that good!

11/15/2016 Winner Announced

And the winner is... Karen F.
Karen has been contacted and has 24 hours to reply before we draw again. Apologies to the initial winner, but we did not hear from you in time.

Thank you all who entered.  We're looking for more great stuff to give away in coming months.  Stay tuned.

p.s. If you have not already signed up for our newsletter, now's the time to do so!

I have two OTT lights and LOVE them! Both a desk top and a mini (which is great clipped to me so I can crochet in low light places!)
Would love to win the clock simply because I love the products I already have and know it would be good quality!

Little Ottlite alarm starts your day with color - what better way is there? Great way to wake those brain cells to a dynamic color scheme you never thought of before. The nature sounds set the tone for the day. Love that you're giving us this opportunity. Thanks!

We have a pre-teen with an early school schedule. Giving him a gentler wake up with a steady brightening light than the sudden appearance of his dad/mom and a time to get up and "move it, move it, move it" phrase, would be great.

First off I have to say that this light clock is SO COOL! I have never tried one before, but I would absolutely love to! I have had trouble getting up the morning lately due to the fact that my other half recently got a new job and now has to wake up earlier than me- which in turn wakes me up! I would love this clock in blue (so pretty) to help make waking up easier and smoother! Thank you so much for doing this giveaway- it is exactly what I need right now! You guys are awesome!
