We're not going to beat around the bush about this because we're just to dang excited. Let's get right to the Big Announcement: From the Martha Stewart American Made website: Each year Martha Stewart Living honors a group of makers, craftspeople, small-business owners, and innovators from across the country in four key categories, crafts, design, food, and style. They are recognized for their dedication to creative entrepreneurship and to building successful businesses and communities. These individuals earn the title of American Made Award Winner. It probably goes without saying… but we'll say it anyway: This isn't just big this is HUGE! You can read the details of the awards over on their website HERE. Needless to say, being a finalist or a winner would be a game changer for Shibaguyz Designz. At this stage of the process, we are nominees. What happens next is up to the judging panel and, possibly, you folks. Here's how it works… We are entered in the category of "Style, Fashion" and there is a series of interview questions we answered on our profile page. To see our profile, click on THIS LINK. BONUS! Y'all know we have been working on our 7th book of patterns and that, normally, we have to keep those projects under tight wraps until the book is published. Here's the bonus part… For the first time EVER, our publisher gave us special permission to include FOUR photos of NEW designs from our upcoming book in our entry profile! You: NO WAY! Us: YES WAY! In addition to two of the designs from our Moonstruck collection we did with the FAB folks at Mango Moon Yarns, you can see a sneak peek of four of the designs from our upcoming crochet pattern book for Lark/Sterling Publishing. We can't say much more of share any more details about the designs but we can say the FAB yarns for these four designs were supplied by Berroco, Knit Picks, and Buffalo Wool Company. WHEW… (That's a lot of news for one post… thanks for sticking around.) So there you have it… we put ourselves out there… now it's up to the judges and, possibly, you all. Head on over and look at the sneak peek photos, read the interview, and give us a shout out on Facebook or Twitter. Here's how… Thank you in advance for your support. We could never have come this far in so little time without the support of our community… that's all of YOU! So thank you for giving us another opportunity to share our work and take this next step. It's never easy to put ourselves out there like this… but knowing y'all are out there rooting for us makes it a heck of a lot easier than going it alone! Now go… look at pretty pictures!
