There is something timeless about a long vest. Portia starts with three panels for the fronts and back then all three are joined across one row forming side vents for ease of wear and movement. The body panel is then worked in one piece up to the armholes where the back and front panels are worked separately.  A quick three-needle bind off at the shoulder seams is all all the finishing for the body. Easy details like the garter stitch side faux seams and the toggles with twisted tab closures add a touch of customization and style.
