Deva Knit Poncho Top Digital Pattern

$8.50

A cozy, dramatic, wrap-yourself-up poncho, now sized XS through 6X.

Some garments just make you feel good. Deva is one of them. She drapes instead of clings, wraps instead of fits, and pairs with everything from your favorite jeans to the leggings you secretly live in. The batwing silhouette moves the way you move. The turtleneck is generous enough to burrow into. And the whole thing is built from humble ribbed stitches that quietly do all the work.

We first designed Deva years ago, and we have brought her back with fresh eyes, corrected counts, and a size range that finally reflects what we believe: the pleasure of wrapping yourself in something soft and dramatic belongs to every body. Ten sizes. XS through 6X. From a 28 inch bust all the way to 64.

This is slow, satisfying, take-along knitting. Knit flat in cozy pieces and seamed together, Deva is patient and portable, the kind of project you reach for when you want the rhythm of the needles as much as the finished thing.

What you will make

  • A relaxed, oversized poncho top with a generous cowl turtleneck

  • A flowing, forgiving silhouette

  • A piece that works in bold color, quiet neutrals, or a wild variegated you have been hoarding

The details

  • Sizes: XS (S, M, L, 1X, 2X, 3X, 4X, 5X, 6X)

  • To fit bust: 28 to 64 inches / 71 to 162.5 cm

  • Finished length: 28 to 29.5 inches / 71 to 75 cm

  • Yarn: A light or DK weight yarn. The original yarn is discontinued, so we include three current substitution suggestions at accessible, mid-range, and splurge price points, with per-size yardage so you can choose freely.

  • Needles: US 4 / 3.5mm, or size needed to obtain gauge

  • Also needed: Stitch holders, yarn needle

  • Skills used: Cast on, knit and purl ribbing, simple increases and decreases, picking up stitches, and seaming. Every technique is spelled out. If you can knit and purl, you can make this.

What you get

An instantly downloadable PDF pattern, fully written out in all ten sizes, with a complete stitch guide, schematic measurements, and our yarn substitution guide. This is a digital download. Nothing will be shipped.
