Slow Cloth is what happens when we stop rushing. These quilts and wall hangings are built from improv piecing, reclaimed garments, and a whole lot of hand stitching, each scrap auditioned one at a time. Some take months. A few take years. Every one of them carries the history of the cloth it came from.
Places: Scrappy Wonky log cabin (Love Shack blocks). Dense shacks at center scatter outward against white. About needing a place of our own while still wanting to be near other humans.
Clothing Quilt 1: 100% garment fabric from the Eileen Fisher program.
Clothing Quilt No. 2: Made entirely from our own clothes. Not for sale (collection of the artists).
The Beast: Abstract quilt from collected scraps and pieces from previous projects. Began as a test of the process, now is a King size quilt.
Sashiko Sampler no. 1: Wall hanging constructed from Cherrywood Hand Dyed Fabric and hand stitched in hitomezashi and moyouzashi styes of sashiko.
